This magnolia print is a 7 layered, 7 coloured reduction print. Completely unique and one of a kind there are only 20 prints in this run. Designed, hand-carved and hand-printed by Eleanor. 
 
A reduction print uses the same lino block to build up an image of multiple colours. This is done by the continuous carving and layering of each colour. Eleanor began by carving the white highlights, she then printed the background blue. The background was then carved out and the petals were printed a light pink. The areas that she wanted to remain light pink were then carved out and a deeper pink was printed on top. This process is continued for each layer of colour.
